G.S. Mahapatra holds Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Technology in Applied Operations Research, MBA in Finance, Fellow Management Accountant from ICMAI, MS in Environmental Science and PG Diploma in Applied Statistics. He pursued Fellowship from IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE) in Supply Chain Engineering. He is also a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS. Apart from possessing various professional certifications, he holds membership of various professional bodies such as Indian Institute of Metals (Life Member), Indian Institute of Materials Management (Life Member). His areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Computational Neuroscience, Operations Research and Optimization, Machine Learning / Deep Learning, Quantum Computations and Bioinformatics.

Some of companies he served are IBM, SUN Microsystems, SAIL, TPSI and start-up companies. He is also a motivational speaker & School Improvement Coach who encourages needy students for better career path. He has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and is alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. He holds many professional qualifications such as CISA, CCCSP, ADCL, CCSK, CBE, IAQG-AA, ISO LA. Murty is the first consultant to receive the prestigious honor of "IBM Consultant Certified" from Global Delivery (GD) business unit of IBM Global Business Services (GBS). He holds life membership of various professional bodies such as ISACA, CSI, IMCI, IIM, IIMM, IIIE & ORSI.

Prof. Mukhopadhyay is Professor of Statistics in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He holds B-Stat (Hons.) and M-Stat from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta and Ph.D. in Statistics from University of Missouri, Columbia, USA.
